The short version of how a pitcher with a blown-out arm ended up running a life insurance agency in Shreveport.
I’ve been in life insurance since 2004, and I still love the moment a family realizes they’re taken care of.
Before insurance, I was a pitcher. Baseball was my future until I blew out my arm in 1996. Back then they didn’t do surgery on kids like they do today, so I was told to take a year off from pitching. When I came back, the arm was fried. To this day I don’t have full range of motion, and it hurts when I throw even one ball.
Over the years I’ve run a number of insurance offices and built teams, including one in Melbourne, Florida. I moved to Shreveport in 2014, and in 2023 I opened The Squire Group as an independent agency so I could put every option on the table for the people I serve.
Being independent is the whole point. I don’t work for an insurance company. I work for the family sitting across from me. We shop the market, we explain everything in plain English, and if what you already have is doing the job, I’ll tell you to keep it.
